Hi there, i need to apologize because i have a lot to do right now and i can't provide so much support as i would like. So please be patient with me I will try to get back to you asap.

ja-purity css problem

Some people encountert some css problems using the ja-purity template. There is now a parameter in the advanced module settings to fix this problem.

& (ampersand) in urls problem

if you encounter an error like:

Warning: DOMDocument::loadHTML() [domdocument.loadhtml]: 
htmlParseEntityRef: expecting ';' in Entity

it is normaly caused by the & (ampersands) in urls like:

this needs to be

 
<a href="index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=someID"></a>

normally the tidy support takes care of this issue. But on some servers you do not have tidy support - so you have to do this by hand.

slider slim

to whom it may concern out there...i'm also not getting text, but it seems i'm also riding a donkey and not a horse, since i'm also unable to understand how slider slim is 'grabbing my document's...i've been able to work out to attach to categories from my back end, but anything on those articles that might relate to text or image is 100% not showing.

Text-Align CSS Center Quirk

In horizon.css, I changed the ul.neHS text-align from "left" to "center". Interestingly, this results in *only* the titles with more than one word being centered. One word titles remain left justified. Any thoughts?

IE7 Slider not working

Hello,

i am as well having the same javascript problem that has been stated multiple times.

We actually did buy the pro version but the im getting the same error there aswell (different js file ofc). Is there any workaround or a fix for that?

IE7 Slider not working

i have used that module it is working in FF & IE8 completely fine but it is not working in IE7. it gives blank page.

It worked! And sorry: it was my (provider's) mistake...

Hi! I finally got it working perfectly! And it was not difficult: my provider said PHP Tidy support was enabled, but it wasn't, after all. Changing to a new server solved the problem. Some tips to check if Tidy is enabled follow:

1. PHPINFO()
- Create a phpinfo.php on the apache www root of your server, containing the following:

(php start)
      phpinfo();
(php end)

Note: replace "(php start)" with a "less than" sign followed by a question mark and "(php end)" with a question mark followed by "greater than" sign.

- Point your browser to http://yourserver.yourdomain/phpinfo.php (ex.: http://www.darksideofthemoon.net/phpinfo.php). Look for something like this:

                        tidy
Tidy support            enabled
libTidy Release      14 June 2007
...

This means tidy support is present.

2. Using ssh or server console

- Connect (directly or remotly) to your server and type the following at the prompt:

      php -m | grep -i tidy

If the result is a line showing "tidy", then tidy support is present; otherwise, it's probably not.

No text is shown...

Hi, there! I really loved the way Presentation Slider Slim looks. Nice work!

However... I see more people had the some problem I do: PSS seems to be working, but no text is shown. I run Joomla! on a shared server (service provider - Linux) and don't have access to php.ini or its parameters (except by using PHP Settings plugin for Joomla). The articles' texts are not shown (neither in Firefox, Chrome nor IE)! Am I missing something? Any parameter I should ask my server admin do add to php.ini? And please tell more about the "Teaser Text" option - I coudn't find it!

Itemid Problem

Hello, the Presentation Slider Slim module is great and looks really nice. I'm having a problem with the itemid being inserted onto the end of links from inside the module though. Basically, if I make a link on any of the slider content articles to another article, the itemid for the page with the slider gets inserted onto the end of the link despite the fact that the link is correct in the database. This is the only module that this happens for. Any ideas?

IE Problem

Hi Jan, I am having the same problem as Ernie. The module works fine in Firefox but only displays an empty box in IE. I have tried everything he mentioned in his post as well as your post thereafter but it is still not working in IE.

The only thing I can fine is the following error:

Icons to Handle Bars

Nevermind about the Modalizer or Lightbox content plugins. I got it fixed. Next, I want to put an icon to the Handle Bars. Is this possible? I need it to enable users an easy way of reading and noticing which bars are what without turning their heads to the side.

At first I missed your earlier post about tidy support in the advanced parameters. The thing is, I'm not sure what you're talking about. I'll be the first to admit I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I don't see anything about tidy support in the Joomla back end. Do you mean on my hosting web panel? Also, what is "teaser text"?

Modalizer or Lightbox content plugins doesnt work

I tried using content plugins to enable better and dynamic show of articles inside the slider. Instead it just showed the codes. Any way of fixing this?

If I am understanding this correctly, after installing the module I just create an appropriate section and category and link the module via its parameters to that category. Having done all of this, the titles show on the handles, but the body text is nowhere to be found in the box. It is so close to being what I need.

It looks exactly the same in the following browsers: Opera, FF, IE 9 Beta, and Chrome. I'd love to "buy you a cup of coffee" :) but just can't justify the expense unless I can make this work. Any ideas about what bone-headed mistake I'm making?

Hi Ernie,
i am not able to find my module under the link you supplied so i can not take a look at your problem.

So I make a wild guess ;)
Most likely the Problem is that the container holding my module has no javascript readable width or height. So try to Set the width for my Module under advanced Parameters and make sure the container you put "Presentation Slider Slim" in has a suitable Height.

IE problem

I would LOVE to use your extension, and will even purchase the Pro version... IF ... I can get it to work with my site under IE. I get blank space when viewing the page under IE6, IE7 or IE8. Firefox, works great -- except for the little black line at the top of the handles. But I can live with the line.

I've turn tidy support on, off, run debugs, added tidy.dll in the php.ini file... ZERO change.

Any ideas? The page (at this time) is here: http://www.myedutrax.com/slider-slim -- like I said, works great under Firefox, but I have to make it work under IE to be useful.

Hi, thankyou for creating this great module. Thank you for the explaination about the tidy support.

For system administrators, they need to look into their php.ini file and uncomment the line "extension=php_tidy.dll".

Question: Do you support JoomFish?

@all who have the "no Text" Problem

If "Presentation Slider Slim" does not show any Article Text this normally means your System does not support tidy (This happens a lot when u run Joomla on an Apple or Windows System).
Try to turn of the "tidy support" under "Advanced Parameters" and make sure your Articles contain Teaser Text's.

Clarify Firefox issue with display

Changed templates to see what else might be happening. Seems that Beez template is giving the module a fit. doesn't have a problem in !E 8 though. Will look at CSS properties to see what is going on, or, just change another template to make things work better.

display works in IE not firefox

IE 8 seems to work like a charm. In Firefox 3.6.8 the bars are not aligned properly. You can see a blank area in the picture where the 'box' should be, but, it sits about the middle of the image.

Modify PSS layout

Very cool module, I love it. I'd like to align the text in the sliders to the bottom of the slide, just on top of the number. Is it possible? I'd like also to give a "rounded" effect to the sliders...I red the code and I think it will be quite hard, but do you have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

I've just tried setting a fixed width in the advanced parameters and it's working fine in the other browsers now.
It would be nice if it could auto-fit the width as it does in IE8 though...

Issues with Firefox/Google

Hi - first of all thanks for a great free module. Coffee will be with you soon!
I've installed it on my site - www.nasstorage.co and everything works fine in IE8, however the Presentation slider behaves strangely in other browsers.
If I place it in a module position which is the full template width (as on the 'Isilon' tab on the site) everything is fine, however if I place it in a module position which is only part (article) width it stops working properly in Firefox/Chrome/Safari.
I've added another copy of the module in the 'about' tab on the site which shows this.
For reference, Tidy support is 'off' on my site - no text shows with it on.

Love your module, if only I would get it to work like I want to. I'm working on a site: http://nieuw.floribundusbloemen.nl.
In every article (except contact) I have a Rok slideshow module. the problem is that it only shows on the first slide and not on the subsequent ones.
Any idea's?

UPDATE: Problems in IE

Hi Jan

I have checked it now with different templates. My standard template is Caprica, with this one I have my little issue.

Now perhaps it helps, if I change on the JA Purity template and I activate the parameter to in advanced settings like discribe then it works.

So it will be the same or nearly the same problem with the Caprica as with JA Purity.

So intelligent I am :-) I activated the parameter to fix the JA Purity problem during the Caprice template was activ, but without success.

Perhaps this additional info helps to find the solution of the problem with Caprice template

First of all. Many thanks for this great modul.

In Firefox it works fine, without some bigger troubles. But in IE 7 and 8 (tested), I have the problem, that the modul do not work.

If you want have a look on the following link

under the titel NATIONAL 2 will be activated your modul, the other ones are only activated as test to have a look how it looks.

Do you have an idea why it does not work?

Hi Girgio,

i am glad you like my Module.
The reason for you not seeing the text from Article could have 2 reasons.

1. Your system has no proper tidy support - tur off "tidy support" under advanced parameters
2. My Module only uses the intro Text portion of an Article (so if your Article starts with a readmore hr it won't work).

Hi Fernando,

the Error Messages are "Notices" which occur because you have turned them on on your wamp installation you can change that in your php.ini file or you can add the following line somewhere at the top of my modules php file:

error_reporting(E_ALL ^ E_NOTICE);

For the Handle images not showing check if you have GD and FreeType support on your wamp installation you can check this under:

"system info" > "php info"

Got the same error as Ricardo. After instalation and configuration when running the page that shows the component got the following error lines :

Hi Giannuchi,

my Module is designed to work in a confined space.
When you put it in a Tab or slide of "joomla works" tabs and Slides my suggestion is that the this Module hides the slides by eather not showing them ( display:none ) or by altering the width or height of the Tab or Slide so my Module is unable to determine the correct measures it may occupy which results in a fail of my Module.
I am sorry but i do not think this issue will be easy to solve.
I am not able to view your site, the login does not seem to work any more so i am not able to take a closer look at the problem.

Solved Problem with JSN-Epic Template - now have issues with Joomlaworks - tabs and slides

A great module. Now when I try and incorporate the plugin with Joomlaworks tabs and slides plugin activated, the module breaks down. Web url: http://joomla101.me/herbal/faq1.html
This page shows the effect with the joomlaworks plugin disabled (great feature in your module). However, when I enable the Joomlaworks plugin, the page breaks down totally. Any suggestions?
